ကခ်င္ျပည္နယ္၊ ျမန္မာႏုိင္ငံ - ျမန္မာႏုိင္ငံေျမာက္ပိုင္း ကခ်င္ျပည္နယ္ ပူတာအုိခ႐ိုင္မွာရွိတဲ့ ဆြမ္ပရာဘြန္ဆုိတဲ့ ၿမိဳ႕ငယ္ေလးကို သြားတဲ့လမ္းဟာ လမ္းျပင္ေနတဲ့အတြက္ ႏွစ္ခါေလာက္ရပ္ေစာင့္ခဲ့ရတာကလြဲၿပီး ပုံမွန္ထက္ ပိုေကာင္းေနခဲ့ပါတယ္။ ပင္လယ္ေရမ်က္ႏွာျပင္အထက္ မီတာ ၂၀၀၀ ေလာက္မွာရွိတဲ့ ေတာင္ထူထပ္ၿပီး ေလထန္တဲ့ ဒီေဒသရဲ႕လမ္းေတြဟာ တစ္ႏွစ္ပတ္လုံး မိုးရြာသြန္းေနတဲ့အတြက္ ရႊံ႕ထူၿပီးေခ်ာ္ႏုိင္တဲ့ အလားအလာသိပ္မ်ားပါတယ္။

လမ္းျပင္တာကိုေစာင့္ေနတဲ့အခ်ိန္မွာ ဆုိင္ကယ္ေနာက္ဘီးကၽြတ္ေပါက္လုိ႔ ဖာေနတဲ့ အားကစားဝတ္စုံဝတ္ထားတဲ့ အမ်ဳိးသမီးႏွစ္ဦးနဲ႔ဆုံခဲ့တယ္။ သူတုိ႔က ဆရာမေတြျဖစ္တဲ့အေၾကာင္း၊ သူတို႔တက္ခဲ့တဲ့ လုပ္ငန္းခြင္ဆရာနည္းျပသင္တန္းအတြက္ ေရးေျဖစာေမးပြဲေျဖဖို႔ ဆြမ္ပရာဘြန္ကို သြားေနတဲ့အေၾကာင္း ေျပာျပတယ္။ ကၽြန္ေတာ္ကလည္း အဲဒီေနရာကိုသြားေနတာပါ။ ဒါေပမဲ့ ကၽြန္ေတာ္ကေတာ့ စာေမးပြဲက်င္းပေနတာကုိ ၾကည့္႐ႈဖုိ႔ ယူနီဆက္ဝန္ထမ္းတစ္ဦးအေနနဲ႔ သြားခဲ့တာေပါ့။ ဒီဆရာမေတြကေတာ့ ရက္သတၱပတ္ ၂၀ ၾကာ တက္ေရာက္ခဲ့တဲ့ သင္တန္းမွာ မိမိတို႔သင္ခဲ့ၾကရတဲ့ သင္ၾကားေရးနည္းလမ္းအသစ္ေတြနဲ႔ပတ္သက္ၿပီး စာေမးပြဲေျဖဆုိၾကမယ့္ ဆရာ၊ ဆရာမ ၃၈ ေယာက္ထဲမွာပါတဲ့သူေတြပါ။

ရွက္ကိုးရွက္ကန္းျဖင့္ “ခက္ခဲပါတယ္”ဟု အသက္ ၁၉ႏွစ္အရြယ္ ေဇာ္မာလူးမွေျပာသည္။ စစ္ေရွာင္စခန္းမ်ားတြင္ သိပ္မေျပာျဖစ္သည့္ ျပႆနာတစ္ခုျဖစ္သည္။ “အျမဲတမ္းေတာ႔ ကၽြန္မအသံုးျပဳျပီးသား လစဥ္သံုးပစၥည္းေလးေတြကို ပလပ္စတစ္အိတ္ထဲထည့္ျပီး အမိွဳက္သိမ္းကားလာယူတဲ့အထိ သိမ္းထားပါတယ္။ ဒါေပမယ့္လို႔ အမိွဳက္ကားက တစ္ပတ္မွ တစ္ခါသာလာတယ္” ဟုသူမက ျဖည့္ေျပာသည္။

“It’s difficult,” says 19-year old Zaw Mar Luu very shyly. This is an issue often not spoken about in IDP camps. “Usually I keep my used sanitary pads in a plastic bag until the garbage truck comes to collect from the main waste bin. But it only comes once a week” she adds.

Armed with new knowledge, children and mothers in most landmine-contaminated State are eager to teach others

As children and women in Kachin learn about the dangers of landmines and Explosive Remnants of War (ERW) through Mine Risk Education (MRE) sessions, many are eager to share their new knowledge with their family, friends and others in their community. Read some of their testimonies.
